Toybox Red
Alert Programme
Toybox is a Christian
charity committed to helping street living and street working children and
those at risk of becoming so, principally in Latin America.
Update June 2010 |
|
This project rescues street children who have been
orphaned by civil war, abandoned by parents too poor to cope, runaways who
fall prey to violence disease, exploitation and rejected by society.
We support two children, one who lives in Guatemala and the other Bolivia.
|
 |
 |
Their mission is to bring lasting and positive
change to the lives of street children, street working children and those at
risk of becoming so, through front line work, prevention and advocacy, being
a facilitator and enabler, galvanising people and resources in the UK, Latin
America and worldwide.

Their vision
is of a world where there are no street children, where families are
restored, those who are disadvantaged have choices and hope and all children
have a voice. |

Caring Hands:
This is a project to care for the homeless and needy people on the streets
of Medway. It is run as an outreach project by Kings Family Church,
Chatham. Three members of our Church actively assist in the outreach
every week. |

Gillingham
Youth For Christ: We regularly support this outreach programme in
Gillingham. Malcolm and team regularly share their experiences with us
as they seek bring God's work to the youth in Gillingham. Following on
from this outreach work we have now become involved with Peninsular
Youth For Christ, a new and exciting branch of the Youth For Christ
organisation. Gemma (from PYFC) has visited our church twice this year
and continues to bring God's love and guidance to our local youngsters. |

Kumi Baptist
Church, Uganda: Following Bernie's visit to Uganda in 2007 our church
decided to support the work of this particular church. We sent further
gifts when Bernie & Chris visited this year (2008) and in October (2008)
Bernie was able to visit Uganda again with church support with Food For the
Hungry, donating computer equipment & training people in its use.
Bernie was able to come alongside the villagers and share God's love and
compassion through His word. |
